Our story

Built from a love of British craft food

Forago exists because finding genuinely brilliant, independently made food shouldn't mean driving two counties over.

Forago started with a simple frustration. We loved seeking out British-made craft and artisan food — but a local farm shop could only ever stock so much. Once you'd tried what was on the shelf, finding something new usually meant travelling further afield: chasing down a farmers' market two towns over, a one-off pop-up, or a maker's website buried three pages deep in a search engine.

That gap — between "incredible food exists out there" and "good luck finding it" — is what Forago was built to close. Craft food makers are some of the most skilled, dedicated people in food, but most are small and independent, limited to whoever happens to walk past their stall or stumble onto their site. They deserved a platform that could connect them with customers nationwide, not just down the road.

At the same time, customers deserved better than hunting shop by shop and market by market for something new. So Forago became a single home for discovery: one place to find bakers, cheesemakers, picklers, roasters and other makers from across the whole of the UK, browse by what they make, and have it delivered or collected — whichever suits.

It's early days, and we're building this slowly and deliberately. Every shop on Forago is run by a real, independent maker — not a big brand, not mass production — and we intend to keep it that way.
